 Product description The 3rd Friendship Demonstration was held in Tokyo on September 6, 1987 and features four in-depth lecture demonstrations on martial arts studied by Aikido Founder Morihei Ueshiba prior to the creation of aikido.
3rd Friendship Demo - Part 2 Part two include: An in-depth demonstration by Soke Kyoju Dairi Katsuyuki Kondo of Daito-ryu aikijujutsu. This extremely important jujutsu system was refined in the late 19th century and disseminated by the famous Sokaku Takeda, the main technical influence on Morihei Ueshiba. Kondo Sensei and his group demonstrates scores of Daito-ryu techniques that highlight the rich curriculum of this school. The final demonstration is conducted by Morihiro Saito Sensei, 9th dan, one of Morihei Ueshiba’s closest students, the Dojo-cho of the Ibaragi Dojo, and the guardian of the Aiki Shrine in Iwama. Saito Sensei’s aikido places equal emphasis on taijutsu and the Aiki Ken and Jo and is based on the techniques perfected by the Founder in the 1940s and 50s in Iwama known as “Takemusu Aiki.” |
