Aikido Gi 160 cm
Aikido Gi Set that includes a jacket, pants and a belt. These unique Gi undergo a very special softening process called peaching. Taking a high quality, this process lightly brings up the fibres of the material resulting in a super soft finish on both the inside and outside of the Gi.

Special Features on the Standard Aikido Gi
Short Sleeves -all traditional Japanese clothing has a ¾ length sleeves. For unarmed arts this is particularly practical as there are many grabs to the wrists and suchlike which can be impeded by the longer Judo style sleeve.
Minimised Reinforcement - due to the nature of Aikido it is not necessary to heavily reinforce the lapels of the Gi. Reinforcement therefore serves no purpose for an Aikido Gi other than to stiffen the suit considerably and make it more uncomfortable to train in.
Fewer Seams - Bulky seams have been minimized by manufacturing the Gi from two pieces only, front and back. This increases the overall strength of the Gi whilst removing the seam at the top of the shoulder and arm which makes the cut of the Gi better and rolling falls more comfortable.
The Aikido Gi pants have reinforced knees that are especially suited to Aikido and its associated Suwari Waza.

The Gi´s are large before the first washing, so please follow the advice underneath and if you have any question just contact us, click here, and we will do our best to answer your question.
The general washing advice from the manufactor is 40 °C and the Gi will then have a shrinking of approximately 5 -10 .
If you feel that the Gi still is little large, you can wash it in 60 °C and the Gi will then shrink an additional 5 %.
We recommend that you air dry all Gi´s, NO tumble drying. The reason for this is that the tumble dryers often dry at 60 - 80 °C which will lead to that the Gi´s shrink even more. Plus, the tumble dryers are more rought to the Gi´s and that will lead to that they will have an reduced life time.
